CypSec connected with the European security and open-source community.
Brussels, Belgium - January 2026
CypSec participated in BYTENIGHT 2026, the annual community gathering hosted by Hackerspace Brussels (HSBXL) at Liocity in Molenbeek. The event brought together developers, security researchers, hardware enthusiasts, and open-source advocates for an informal evening of knowledge exchange and networking ahead of the FOSDEM weekend.

The evening provided an opportunity for unstructured dialogue with practitioners from across Europe's technical community. Discussions ranged from practical security implementations and vulnerability research to the challenges of maintaining digital sovereignty in open-source ecosystems. The informal setting fostered direct exchange of perspectives on emerging threats and defensive techniques outside formal conference structures.
"BYTENIGHT represents exactly the kind of organic technical community that strengthens European digital resilience. These informal gatherings often surface the practical insights and cross-border collaborations that formal channels miss. For CypSec, maintaining presence in these spaces ensures we stay grounded in the operational realities that practitioners face daily," said Daria Fediay, CypSec's Chief Executive Officer.
CypSec's participation reflects its commitment to engaging with the broader European security and open-source ecosystem beyond traditional enterprise and government channels. The company values these community touchpoints as essential sources of truth on emerging vulnerabilities and defensive methodologies.
CypSec will continue to participate in community-driven technical gatherings across Europe, maintaining connections with the independent research community and supporting initiatives that advance practical security capabilities.
BYTENIGHT is an annual pre-FOSDEM gathering hosted by Hackerspace Brussels, providing an informal venue for developers, security researchers, and open-source contributors to connect and exchange knowledge. The event is free, requires no registration, and operates within the European hackerspace tradition of open technical collaboration.
